Technology Inside the Classroom

Even though classes are face-to-face, we still use technology to support learning: Google Classroom and Google Workspace for materials and communication, the Irodori textbooks as the core curriculum, and a spaced repetition review system to lock in vocabulary and kanji.

The tools, and what each one is for

  • Google Classroom & Google Workspace — where lesson materials, announcements, and assignments live between sessions.
  • Irodori textbooks — the core curriculum, covered in class under Irodori-Focused Curriculum.
  • Spaced repetition reviews — the system covered under Spaced Repetition Reviews, for retaining vocabulary and kanji long after a lesson ends.

Technology supports the classroom — it doesn’t replace it

None of these tools are meant to be a substitute for sitting in a room with a sensei and classmates. They exist to keep material organized and reviewable between sessions, so class time itself can stay focused on instruction and speaking practice.
